House of Eight is an art advisory and may be active in artist markets discussed by The House Index. Editorial judgment is not determined by whether the firm advises on, appraises, has access to, or has an economic relationship with a particular work or market.

When a relationship is material to understanding a story, the publication will disclose it as clearly as privacy and contractual obligations allow.

We favor primary sources, artist and estate records, catalogues raisonnés, institutional scholarship, published interviews, exhibition histories, market records, and direct documentation.

Anonymous or privately circulated information may inform reporting when the source is credible and confidentiality is necessary. It will not be presented as independently verified when it is not.

Names, dates, titles, dimensions, media, quotations, provenance, exhibition history, and market information are reviewed against the best available evidence before publication. Interpretation and opinion are identified through context and voice rather than presented as uncontested fact.

Material factual errors will be corrected promptly and transparently. Substantive updates may be recorded with an updated publication date or an editorial note. Minor typographic changes may be made without notice.

Editorial commentary is general information. It is not an appraisal, offer, recommendation, tax or legal advice, or a substitute for analysis of a specific work, collection, or transaction.

Contributors are expected to disclose relationships that could reasonably affect their coverage. The publication may edit submissions for accuracy, length, clarity, and house style while preserving the contributor's meaning.
